Supercell

Supercell Technology offers printing razor-sharp text and smooth gradients. To generate shades of gray, toner particles are organized in halftoning cells and the number of particles in a cell result in a specific gray. For a given print resolution (dpi), large cells offer many shades of gray but the effective resolution (lpi) is low. Small cells offer a high resolution, but only few shades of gray. SuperCell technology circumvents the tradeoff by printing several halftone spots within a large cell.
